How to remove remote access when an employee leaves or loses a device

Managing accounts, devices, and resource permissions separately gives admins a clear place to act when a team changes, without relying on shared credentials.

Every team deals with change: an employee leaves, moves to a new role, or loses a phone or laptop. If remote access depends on shared accounts or network settings, an admin may not know exactly what to revoke or where to start.

Keeping employee accounts, registered devices, and business resources distinct makes those steps easier to follow.

When someone leaves: disable their account

An admin can disable the employee’s account and review the teams and access rules associated with it. When permissions are tied to employee accounts and resources, it is easier to see which access should end with the person’s departure.

When a device is lost: disable that device

If a device goes missing, an admin can find its device record and disable it. If the account may also be at risk, the admin can disable the account and follow the organization’s credential security process.

When a role changes: update access for the new work

A role change does not have to mean reconfiguring the whole network. An admin can update the employee’s team membership and resource rules, keeping only the access needed for the new responsibilities.

VeloTrust lets admins disable employee accounts or devices, and Gateways apply current access rules to connections. A disconnected device is checked again when it reconnects. Organizations still need their own process for departures, lost devices, and credentials; a single tool does not replace a complete personnel security process.
